About the event
The Olcott Stomp is one of the most popular and social racing weekends on Lake Ontario, bringing together sailors from both sides of the Niagara River for a weekend of competitive racing, great parties, and friendly rivalry between clubs.
Beginning with feeder races and a gathering in Youngstown on Friday, the weekend's main event takes place Saturday as competitors race from Youngstown to Olcott. After the finish, crews are welcomed ashore for an evening of food, drinks, and celebration at Olcott Yacht Club. The weekend concludes Sunday with a pursuit-style race from Olcott to Wilson, where staggered start times create exciting finishes and close competition throughout the fleet.
As noted in OYC fleet communications, OYC racers have enjoyed recent success in the event, making the Olcott Stomp a source of club pride as well as one of the season's most anticipated regattas.
