OYC Racing Make-Up Days

Lake Ontario weather can be unpredictable, and occasionally race conditions require a postponement or cancellation for the safety of competitors and race officials. To ensure that as many championship races as possible are completed during the season, Olcott Yacht Club has designated Make-Up Days on the racing calendar.

If a scheduled race is canceled due to weather, unsafe conditions, lack of race committee availability, or other unforeseen circumstances, the Fleet Captain and Race Committee may reschedule that race to one of the designated make-up dates listed on the racing calendar.

How Make-Up Days Work

• Make-up dates are reserved specifically for postponed or abandoned races.

• Not every make-up date will be used during the season.

• Race announcements and any schedule changes will be posted on the OYC website and club notice board.
