The Olcott Yacht Club offers an Adult Sailing Program for those 18 and older, featuring 8 lessons—1 classroom session and 7 on-water experiences (5 Wednesday evenings and 2 Saturdays).

The 2025 program combines Wednesday night racing/cruising with two full-day cruises to Wilson. Participants are matched with experienced skippers on racing or cruising boats, ensuring a supportive and engaging learning experience tailored to skill level and weather conditions.

Racing focus includes:

• Sailing with purpose and precision

• Strategy and sail trim for speed

• Crew communication and coordination

• Racing rules and decision-making

Cruising focus includes:

• Navigation and docking skills

• Boat handling and seamanship

• Onboard troubleshooting

• Environmental awareness
